![]() I liberally applied ballistol to it and it's much better now. So where do you find the authentic black ones. They're basically identical to the German slings and look better than a "brand new" repro sling, IMO. Liberty Tree also has Israeli slings (like the one on the rifle in RogueJSK's picture). If it was a Walther receiver it would be E/359 (IIRC) marked with regular lettering for the Mod. Yours is an Erma, you can tell by the E/280 WaA and the Fraktur script lettering for the Mod. Oh, and here is a link to a matching 1943 ce (Sauer) to see what they would look like unmolested.oh, and Sauer did not make the recievers, they had two suppliers, Walther and Erma. There are some real headscratchers out there when someone rebarrels an un-numbered reciever, with an un-numbered barrel.no s/n! I would guess that the rifle is original 7,92mm (8mm Mauser).ĮTA.Early on, both barrel and receiver were serialed, later they dropped one, usually the barrel, although there are certain blocks without a number on the receiver, only the barrel. ![]() Barrels weren't always marked with a s/n.and only early barrels had the caliber stamp on the shank.a 43 wouldn't. ![]()
